Sometimes I like to pretend I'm an artist and a writer. Or maybe I actually am! In either case, I post my stuff here, and also reblog stuff I like, like Monkees and cute little animals and stuff.

Some people are weird about their art being reblogged, but I'm okay with it. Please feel free to do so if you're so inclined. I appreciate the publicity! :D

While my meeting with Nez wasn’t the best - Not only was I in line behind someone who bothered him, but I foolishly made plans of what I wanted to say and failed them entirely - There was one moment I had with him that will always stick out in my mind.I wanted to give him something that he could potentially remember. Now, I have no idea if he kept it or not. I always assume that the drawings I’ve done for people over the years to show my appreciation (Jewel Staite, Micky Dolenz, Kristian Ayre, among others) always get thrown away or tossed by the wayside and forgotten. But the way his face lit up, and the way he came alive when I gave him this drawing, was simply amazing. He laughed. He pointed at each of the characters in turn and named them. He told me how great it was. I felt his appreciation there - and even if he’s forgotten this, and has forgotten me, I know he was truly honest with how he felt in that moment.I don’t care how you feel about anyone. The measure of a man’s worth can be summed up in how much he loves his animals, and he truly, deeply loved this dog, so much so that I felt for him when I heard that Dale passed.  I cried. It feels silly, but I did.Because Nez passed on his love for Dale so perfectly that I couldn’t help but feel it.I know that somewhere out there, Dale is running around just having a grand old time, and she’s young and happy again and having even greater adventures than she could have on earth. Even better - she’ll get to go with him on tour this time. She’ll never have to be apart from him again.

That was such a beautiful picture—correction: that is such a beautiful picture. Not only because it’s a picture of Dale...
